Features of various covered electrodes

In recent years, the use of covered arc welding has decreased as it has been replaced by MAG and MIG welding methods and TIG welding methods.
However, covered arc welding electrodes are still often used for on-site welding, pipe welding, assembly welding, and other construction work because they do not require shielding gas and are easy to handle.
When we consult with our department on technology, we sometimes receive questions about the types of covered electrodes and how to use them for different applications, so today we would like to explain the types and features of commonly used covered arc welding electrodes.

dummy Also known as "Hi-Cell," this welding rod contains more than 20% organic matter in the coating, which generates a large amount of gas to protect the welded metal.
