การประชุมสมาพันธ์การเชื่อมแห่งเอเซีย (Asian Welding Federation: AWF)

ในเดือนกรกฎาคม 2547 ได้มีการจัดประชุมเพื่อก่อตั้งสมาพันธ์การเชื่อมแห่งเอเซีย (Asian Welding Federation) ขึ้นที่เมืองโอซาก้า ประเทศญี่ปุ่น โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อก่อตั้งองค์กรทางด้านงานเชื่อม ซึ่งจะทำหน้าที่รวบรวมมาตรฐานงานเชื่อมของประเทศสมาชิก ให้เป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกัน รวมทั้งเพื่อถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีต่างๆระหว่างประเทศสมาชิก โดยในการประชุมได้มีสมาชิกอันประกอบไปด้วย ตัวแทนจากสมาคมการเชื่อม และสถาบันทางด้านการเชื่อมจากประเทศต่างๆเข้าร่วมทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 10 ประเทศ ได้แก่ เกาหลี จีน ญี่ปุ่น ไทย ฟิลิปปินส์ มาเลเซีย เวียดนาม สิงคโปร์ อินเดีย และ อินโดนีเซีย ดังที่เห็นภาพถ่ายในรูปบน
และในเดือนตุลาคม 2547 ก็ได้มีการประชุมครั้งที่สองขึ้นที่เมืองมะนิลา ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ เพื่อเป็นการสานต่อ และทำให้การก่อตั้งสมาพันธ์การเชื่อมแห่งเอเซียเป็นรูปธรรมชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น ดังจะเห็นในภาพถ่ายด้านล่าง

หากการก่อตั้งสมาพันธ์การเชื่อมแห่งเอเซียสำเร็จเป็นรูปธรรมจริง ก็จะส่งผลดีต่อประเทศสมาชิกเป็นอย่างมาก โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ในด้านของการถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีต่างๆในด้านงานเชื่อม จากประเทศที่เจริญแล้วไปสู่ประเทศที่กำลังพัฒนา

In July 2004, The AWF 1st Protem Meeting has been successfully organized in Osaka Japan, for the purpose of establishing the Asian Welding Federation (AWF) in order that this federation will harmonize the Welding Standards among all members as well as transferring the Welding Technologies among the members. In this meeting, there were delegates from 10 countries participated, those are China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The delegates from each countries comprised of the representatives of the Societies/Institutes/Associations from welding and related fields.
In October 2004, The 2nd AWF Meeting has been successfully organized in Manila Philippines to continue the missions, this can prove that this mission must be possible.

Once the establishment of AWF is successful, there should be many advantages in the welding fields of all members, particularly on the technologies transfer from Asian developed countries to developing countries.
